Just my luck.

As I stated in my previous post, I was scheduled to get Lasik eye surgery done on my eyes on March 14th. As luck would have it, I arrived ready for surgery and unfortunately the laser was down that day. So, I scrambled to find people to cover my shifts so that I could get it done on March 26th (yesterday). While I was at work the day before surgery, I got a call from Dr. Zoellners office saying the surgeon just quit and I will, once again, not be getting my surgery done as scheduled. I would not be able to get my surgery done at all from there because they are no longer going to be offering Lasik. Needless to say, I was a little pissed. It is so frustrating to get excited/nervous about something and then it not happen-twice! I was not medicated this time when they told me and I was furious. I already paid them a lot of money expected to get a service in return! The worker there informed me that it was probably for the best because there have been quite a few unhappy customers over the last few months/years that are needing a lot of enhancements. God works in mysterious ways. It was not meant to be for me and that guy, better I find out before he sliced my eyes open! Anyway, I had to get on the phone and call all the Lasik places to find out what prices/schedules/technology they all had to offer. It was difficult to make a decision, as they are all relatively competitive on all accounts, but I finally settled on a place that I know has been around a while and had a great deal of experience. It turns out to be a better deal anyway because they offer a RN discount and they can get me in on a day that I already have 2 days off to follow it for recovery. They crappy thing is I have to go get my eyes dilated all over again! Oh well, I will let you know how the surgery goes, it is set for April 1st, how perfect!
On a brighter note, the weather has been amazing the past few days. Joey and I just happened to have them off so it was awesome! Today was in the 80's! We started to work in the garden on Tuesday and basically finished our little project today. We have only a few little touch-ups and it will be ready for spring. We are just waiting for the flowers to bloom! Today we both got a little pink. Well, Joey got a lot pink and I got just a little less pink. I don't usually burn but it has been so long since my back has seen the sun so it was bound to happen. I didn't even feel it, I was just enjoying the weather but our backs were to the sun the whole time and now we have a very clear outline of the clothes we were wearing. To top it off, I was looking like a huge nerd because I am still wearing my glasses so I had on my glasses, then the big dark plastic/paper sunglasses you have to wear after you dilate your eyes and a visor on top of that. I got my eyes dilated today but I didn't want to be locked inside all day so I looked like a total dork. Oh well!
Tomorrow my grandparents will be back in town. The live on Grand Lake but travel to San Juan, Texas every winter. They leave after Christmas and come back at the beginning of April because they don't like the cold. They have been doing it for as long as I can remember and it is like they have a separate life down there with separate friends and everything! It is funny! But they will be returning tomorrow and will be in town for dinner so the whole family will get together. I am excited because we haven't all been together since they left in December! Well, I did get to see some of them last weekend at my cousin Crysten's baby shower, but only for a few minutes. By the way, Crysten is ready to pop! I swear there are 3 babies in there. She is pretty darn cute pregnant though! She is going to have her baby boy at the end of April, a little earlier than expected. But more on that later!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend as our work week is just starting!!
